Pekka Viljakainen 
Adviser to the President of the Skolkovo Foundation for start-up issues
Graduated from the University of Technology at Lapeenranta.
He started his career as an entrepreneur in 1986 by establishing a digital technology company - Oy Visual Systems Ltd. In 1998 after his company Oy Visual Systems Ltd was acquired by Tieto, he continued his career in Tieto. Pekka has a track record of dealing with complex business process governance and political topics in large international organizations. He managed a team of 8350 people, working in 24 countries around the world. He has played a strategic role in developing the market for digital services in Europe, Russia, and China.
In November 1, 2010 Pekka decided to leave the business to focus more on his family and charity. In 2011 he launched the "NO FEAR. The Community." project that aimed at bringing together the heads of the largest corporations into a global network. He coauthored and published the book "No Fear. Business Leadership for the Digital Age" where he analyzed the fundamental changes occurring in consumer behavior and in corporate strategies due to global information expansion.
In December 2011 Pekka accepted a proposal to become an advisor to the Skolkovo Foundation president.
Pekka has worked as an ambassador between business executives and technology teams for the last twenty years. Due to his strong focus on results he has earned himself the popular nickname of "The Bulldozer" from the president of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer.
